Robert W. Manahan Ed.D.
Superintendent Robert Manahan began his tenure as Superintendent of Peninsula School District on July 1, 2016. Prior to coming to Peninsula, Dr. Manahan was the Superintendent of the Lake Chelan School District for six years. Before that, he served for three years as Executive Director for Teaching and Learning in the Lake Stevens School District. While at Lake Stevens, he also was the Principal at Sunnycrest Elementary School for six years; Principal at Mount Pilchuck Elementary for four years; and, Associate Principal at Lake Stevens Middle School for one year. Earlier in his career, he was an Assistant Principal in the Port Angeles School District. Dr. Manahan taught for three years in the Peninsula School District in the early 1990’s and completed his administrative internship at Harbor Ridge Middle School.
Dr. Manahan received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Washington State University; his Masters in School Administration from Western Washington University and his Educational Doctorate from the University of Washington. He is married with four children and four grandchildren. Two of his grandchildren attend Voyager Elementary and his daughter in law teaches at Vaughn Elementary. Dr. Manahan is excited to be close to family and back in the Peninsula School District and the Gig Harbor community!
