Dear Parents and Staff of the Peninsula School District:
The Peninsula School District is embarking on an evaluation and assessment of our facilities to help us determine future steps and strategies to ensure we continue to meet the needs of all our students not only academically but through our facilities. This will help us to be proactive to new and innovative programming as well as any anticipated growth.
We are currently scheduling a number of school and regional meetings to discuss our facility conditions from your perspective. I will be meeting at each school site to discuss what is working, what is not working and what the ideal might be in regard to the structure and instructional/programmatic use of our facilities.
The site meetings are open to all staff and all parents and are typically, right after school. Additionally, I will be meeting from 6:30 – 8:15 at each middle school for parents and staff that could not make the individual site meetings.
We are very interested in hearing from as many individuals and diverse perspectives as possible!
This information, combined with some technical analysis and growth vs. capacity information will be used to help our Facilities Planning Committee (made up of 70 staff and community members) develop a recommendation for the superintendent and school board in regard to what next steps might be as a district to ensure we continue to meet the needs of all our students through our facilities.
Again, your voice is important to us and I highly encourage you to join us at any of these meetings listed below:
Thank you for participation and thank you as always for your support and the efforts you all make to make the Peninsula School District a great place for students, staff, parents and our community!
Robert W. Manahan, Ed.D
Superintendent, Peninsula School District
