Assessment & Accountability

Department Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the administration and analysis of all required federal, state and district assessments. This includes the following:
    • National Assessment of Educational Progress - NAEP
    • Smarter Balanced Assessments – Grades 3-8 and high school
    • Measurement of Student Progress (science) – Grades 5 and 8
    • High School End-of-Course exams – math and biology
    • Academic and Cognitive Abilities testing for the Highly Capable Program
    • Math course placement tests – middle school
    • District reading and math screening and benchmark assessments – grades K-8
  • Coordinate staff development opportunities in the area of student assessment and progress reporting
  • Monitor federal and state accountability requirements
  • Assist school leaders, staff, students and parents in the effective use of assessment data to set goals, inform instruction, and monitor student academic progress
