Welcome, Class of 2028!
We are excited to meet you and your Kindergartener! Please download the forms listed below or pick-up a Kindergarten Registration packet at your designated neighborhood elementary school any time after March 20th. After this date, please submit all forms to the Main Office of your neighborhood school. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm on school days through the end of June. All Elementary offices will re-open the end of August.
NEW for 2015-16
The Peninsula School District is pleased to announce for the 2015-16 school year, we will be offering free All-Day Kindergarten, five days a week!
What changed? Funding was provided specifically to schools impacted by high free and reduced lunch rates. By combining the new funds with the levy dollars we have already been using for Kindergarten, we are able to add full time Kindergarten teachers (M-F) for all our elementary schools!
Why is full time Kindergarten important? Research shows us that our early childhood years are the most impactful in education and have a direct correlation to future success.
Can we meet the Kindergarten teacher before school starts? Prior to the first day of school, from September 2-4, parents will be invited to individual Family Connection meetings with their Kindergarten teacher. These meetings allow the teachers the opportunity to listen and learn about your child. You will be invited to schedule that meeting in August.
What is the first day of class for Kindergarten students? The first day of class for Kindergarten students will be Tuesday, September 8th. The first day of school for grades 1st – 12th is Wednesday, September 2nd.
Eligible kindergarteners are children who are 5 years of age by August 31, 2015 and reside within the Peninsula School District.
