Dear Parents and Guardians:
We are excited to celebrate our 8th graders’ successful completion of middle school – an important exploratory and developmental stage for our students.
GHHS visit Monday, June 17th: Thank you to our 8th families that have turned in the GHHS visit permission slips. Students without permission slips will not be allowed to attend.
The 8th Grade Moving On ceremony will take place from 6-7:30 p.m., at the Gig Harbor High School gym, on Wednesday, June 19th. Immediately following the ceremony, cookies and beverages will be served in the Commons, adjacent to the gym.
All 8th graders are asked to arrive at 5:30 p.m. to line up in the Gig Harbor High Commons.
In addition, parents dropping off cookies will bring the cookies to the table next to the name tags at Gig Harbor High prior to the ceremony. If you’re willing to provide cookies, email Katri Rahkonen, our office manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your generosity!
Student Recognition: Our Student Recognition Assembly will be the highlight of the final day of school on Friday, June 21st. At this all-school celebration, groups of students will be recognized in categories that represent their diversity of strengths and successes, such as academics, service, athletics, the arts and clubs. Families are welcome to join us for this event, which will start at 8:20 AM in the Gym – though you might want to arrive a few minutes early to guarantee a seat! After the assembly, students will have abbreviated classes before our early dismissal at 11:30 AM.
We’ll see you on Wednesday evening!
