Participation in End of Year Events
The end of the year is filled with several fun-filled student activities, such as Field Day and 8th Grade Event on Friday, June 15th. While there is much to celebrate, students are also expected to keep working hard through the last day of school.
Please remember that in order to participate in these year-end events, students must have:
Passing grades in all core classes (Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies)
Fewer than three behavior infractions since April 1st
If you have any questions, please refer to the Kopachuck Student handbook where this practice is outlined in greater detail or contact Assistant Principal Nate Hudac.
Thank you for helping your son or daughter to finish the year strong so that they can join these celebrations!
If you are interested in volunteering for Field Day alongside other parents and Kopachuck staff members, please go to this website Volunteer Signup for Kopachuck Field Day 2018 to learn more about the various roles and to sign up for one of them. http://signup.com/go/kxyioBL
Students need to turn in all their books and pay all their fees and fines BEFORE the release party on the 15th. If they have outstanding items, their Yearbook will be held until they clear their account. This includes uniforms too! The Bookkeeper has a weekly post on her window listing fees/fines that are due from students by their student ID number. Parents can login online and look through the bookkeeper link on the Kopachuck website.
Students will receive yearbooks in Pack on June 15th where they will receive tickets for donuts and sharpies based on when they purchased the yearbook. Students will be excused to the gym with their book where they can exchange their tickets. Pack is a time to look at and sign yearbooks only for students who purchased them.
Dates of purchase:
Beginning of the year – May 11th: Students earned a donut and a sharpie, and an invitation to the signing party with their book
May 11th – May 25th: Students earned just the Sharpie and party invitation with their book
After May 25th: Students earned the signing party (if there are any books left)
There are 15 books left! Hurry online or send a check for $34 to the bookkeeper to reserve one of the last yearbooks and an invitation to the signing party on June 15th.

With Alexa Shanafelt taking a year’s leave of absence, we’re in need of a very part-time multi-media teacher. If you know someone that has a college degree and graphic design and/or photo-video experience, send them our way. In addition, we have a full-time Spanish position that would be shared between Kopachuck and Key Peninsula middle schools.
Our next KPTSA General Meeting is Monday, June 4th, at 9:15am.
Thank you for supporting the KPTSA this school year, through volunteering at Coyote Corner and the Book Fair and in your donations to the Conference Meals, Blarney Bash, KMS Marching Band and Staff Appreciation. Through your generosity we have continued supporting school and classroom needs by the purchase of a new Gym/Commons sound system, funded several Classroom Wish List items, helped get the KMS Marching Band up and going, gave two GHHS Scholarships for KMS Alumni and supported PSD efforts (SUP, InvestEd, CAPE, etc). Our amazing staff benefit from our generosity and in turn are better able to serve our kids.
