Kopachuck students set individual goals last week for their future performance on the Smarter Balanced math and ELA (English/language arts) exams. Even though the Smarter Balanced exams seem like a long way off, students considered how their present learning can have a positive impact on their State scores.
To set their goals, students received a score report that graphed their score trends over the past three years. (See example below.)
Students have their score reports, so we encourage parents to ask about the report and invite their children to explain what the report means and to share their goals for next May’s exams.
Kopachuck’s staff leaders will compile all of the students’ goals and use this information to set our math and language arts building goals for 2017-18. We will present our School Improvement Plan (SIP) to our Board of Directors on Thursday, November 9th.
