As you may know, Key Peninsula Middle School currently has only two activity buses that run on Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30 pm. One bus serves the North side of our service area, while the other bus serves the South side. It has proven unrealistic for two buses to drop every student at their regular school bus stop within a reasonable time frame. Therefore, starting this 2019-2020 school year, transportation has established activity routes, similar to an emergency/snow route, that will include safe drop-off “hubs”. If you live off the established route, your student will be dropped at a “hub” stop closest to your home. Please see the attached activity run bus routes, with safe “hub” locations for each bus, and maps of each service area. Times at these stops may vary 10-15 minutes.
Student should be picked up by a parent, or parent approved ride, as we do not recommend students walk from their drop-off hubs to their home if it involves walking down a public roadway. It is simply too dangerous in the limited afternoon light of winter.
