During the week of August 19-23, drivers who need to access Peninsula School District properties including Peninsula High School (PHS), Purdy Elementary School, the Educational Service Center, and PHS football field are encouraged to use Purdy Lane to avoid construction on 62nd Avenue.
Drivers may use Purdy Lane to go up the hill and turn either left or right to find parking, if needed, for access to PHS. The road that veers right will take drivers to the PHS football field, Purdy Elementary School, and the Educational Service Center. Drivers are encouraged to exit the way they came in.
Pierce County construction crews are installing retaining walls and temporary drainage facilities in their efforts to improve the 62nd Av NW and 144th St. NW intersection. The District is working closely with Pierce County to help communicate timely information about the project and its impact on drivers to these school district properties.
