“Page Pointers” Mrs. Page’s September Newsletter
Dear Vaughn Families,
What a wonderful start to the school year. School has been underway now for a month, and our students are getting settled into their classrooms. Our kindergarten and preschool programs have begun and all of our support staff have their programs up and running throughout the building. I am so excited to be a part of such a vibrant school atmosphere. Vaughn has exceptional staff, connected parents, and a wonderfully supportive community.
We have added some new teaching staff to the preschool as well as k-5th grade teachers who support our growing Vaughn Community. Many of you met our new teachers at our Ice Cream Social/Open House. Please help me welcome some new staff to Vaughn including; Mrs. Jennifer Albertson (ECEAP/COOP), Ms. Kate Chaffin (Kindergarten), Mrs. Karen Ramirez (Office Manager), Mrs. Christine Bonner (School Psychologist), Mrs. Christina Runne (Speech Language Pathologist), Ms. Stephanie Schildt (Occupational Therapist), and Krystal Raymond (Vaughn Building Substitute).

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Mrs. Arneson (our Dean of students) visited all classrooms in September to go over our expectations around recognizing, refusing, and reporting bullying. Thank you to our partnership with Communities In Schools of Peninsula that provides an assembly every year, that emphasizes how to recognize bullying.
Did you know that we have expectations for students throughout the building that include being “Ready to Learn,” by being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe? Vaughn staff work regularly to teach these expectations throughout the building. You may see Husky Paws come home that have these expectations highlighted on them. We talk regularly with students about what this looks and sounds like throughout the common areas and classrooms of our school.
Finally, please remember to follow our parking lot guidelines (please review on our website). We appreciate your prudence when following our parking lot expectations. We are working diligently to help provide solutions with our parking. Our system does work when everyone joins in to make this process move smoothly. We are aware that parking is tight. Please look out for staff directing cars and buses when you enter at the end of the day. Thanks for helping to keep parent pick-up a smooth process.
