Our mission is to foster transparent, timely, and effective communication with our community. We engage through storytelling, media relations, and community partnerships to highlight the achievements and initiatives of our district.

COMMUNICATIONS TOOLBOX

PSD's communications department and schools use these tools to share important information with staff, families, and community members.

  • ParentSquare logo

    ParentSquare is the primary communications tool for our schools and district, used for mass communications, classroom messaging, and school services like attendance and lunch balances.

    Features:

    • Mass Communications: School newsletters, district info, urgent alerts.
    • Classroom Communication: One-to-one/group messaging, parent-teacher conferences.
    • School Services: Attendance, lunch balances, forms.

    Communication Methods:

    • Email, text, and app notifications.
    • Web interface for accessing past posts and news.

    Account Setup:

    • Accounts are automatically generated using contact info from the parent portal. Update contact information in ParentSquare throught the Parent Portal.
    • Set up notification settings and language preferences once registered.

    ParentSquare Resources

  • PSD uses social media as a tool to promote and enhance its educational and communication goals by:

    • Sharing the achievements and stories of its employees, students, schools, and the district;

    • Broadcasting relevant and timely information; and

    • Bringing students, families, staff, and community members together around district-related topics.

    Supported platforms include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.

    All official PSD/school accounts must be registered with the communications department and are archived in accordance with public record laws.

    PSD Social Media

  • Our district website and school and department web pages are the main platform to publicly share information and highlight events and happenings for students, families, and community members.

  • Peachjar Logo

    Peachjar is used to share electronic flyers with families from local and regional non-profit organizations.

    • Approved flyers are sent to families via email and posted to school and district websites.
    • Paper flyers are not distributed in PSD.

  • The communications department publishes both internal and external publications, including:

    • Our quarterly Compass magazine, which reaches every household within Peninsula School District boundaries;
    • Internal department newsletters; and
    • Ads in local print and online news outlets.
