Our mission is to provide nutritious and delicious meals that support the health and well-being of our students. We are dedicated to ensuring that every student has access to balanced meals that fuel their learning and growth. PSD participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), which is designed to promote the health and well-being of children by providing nutritious meals.


Our schools provide breakfast and lunch to our students daily. A few helpful things to know: 

  • Middle and high school students have a variety of options to choose from (hot meals, sandwiches, fresh fruits, and veggies). 
  • School menus are provided through Nutrislice. 
  • Families must make a “My MealTime” account to pay for meals online. 
  • Students can pay for meals at school with a cash or check.
  • Many families are eligible for free and reduced school meals! Just fill out this application.

  • Allergies/Dietary Needs

    Peninsula School District strives to accommodate students with medical or special dietary needs. A medical authority must provide a signed statement, including:

    • Identification of the medical or dietary condition
    • Foods to be omitted
    • Foods to be substituted

    Food Substitutions:
    The Nutrition Services Department may make substitutions for students without disabilities but with special dietary needs, such as food intolerances or allergies, on a case-by-case basis.

    Special Dietary Options:

    • Gluten-Free: Various gluten-free options are available.
    • Tree Nuts/Peanuts: No products containing nuts are offered, with designated "nut-free" tables.
    • Lactose: Suitable substitutes provided upon request.

    The Peninsula School District supports the No Kid Hungry program to ensure every child has access to nutritious meals. The USDA National Hunger Hotline is available Monday–Friday:

    • For Spanish, call 1-877-8-HAMBRE (1-877-842-6273)

    No Kid Hungry Resources:

    • Text Line: Families can text "Food" or "Comida" to 877-877 to find free summer meals near them.

Free and Reduced Meals Applications

Families are strongly encouraged to complete a School Meal Application to determine eligibility for free and reduced-price meals. Eligibility extends through the first 30 days of the new school year, requiring a new application annually.

Benefits Beyond Meals:

  • Discounts on technology fees, credit recovery, college applications, SAT, ACT, and AP fees.

Application Details:

  • Can be submitted any time during the school year.
  • Simple, confidential process with no citizenship requirements.
  • Valid from approval date to the first 30 days of the next school year.
