Capital Bond Planning Task Force
The Long Range Facilities Advisory Committee made recommendations for future facility work, and Peninsula School District is now seeking volunteers to review the committee's findings as members of PSD's new Capital Bond Planning Task Force (CBPTF).
Community members, staff, and individuals interested in facilities planning or in the facilities field are encouraged to apply to join the task force. We are seeking a geographically diverse group of volunteers from across the district. The purpose of the task force is to conduct informal research, investigations and surveys and make recommendations to best serve the interests of students, families and PSD. Last year, the Long Range Facilities Advisory Committee made recommendations to the Board and Superintendent for future facility work, and Peninsula School District is now seeking volunteers to review the committee's findings as members of a new PSD Capital Bond Planning Task Force (CBPTF). Community members, staff, and individuals interested in facilities planning or in the facilities field are encouraged to apply to join the task force. We are seeking a geographically diverse group of volunteers from across the district.
The purpose of the Capital Bond Planning Task Force is to conduct informal research, investigations and surveys and make recommendations to best serve the interests of students, families and PSD. The CBPTF shall focus on the following areas and report back to the School Board and Superintendent.
- Review the Long Range Facilities Advisory Committee report on conditions of the district facilities
- Review the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) Study & Survey
- Review how existing high school sites could be used to facilitate rebuilt high schools
- Review district demographic and enrollment projections to anticipate future needs
- Review the programmatic needs of the district based on current and anticipated educational trends or requirements, including instructional and educational models likely to be in place in the district
- Consider any other trends, conditions or potential needs relating to facilities and operations that arise during the term commitment
- Solicit community input through a variety of methods which may potentially include surveys and/or community forums, if necessary
- Report findings to Board and Superintendent

PSD Long Range Planning Committee: Building Our District's Future
The Long Range Planning Committee is an official Citizens' Advisory Committee, this volunteer group helps ensure our buildings and infrastructure support educational excellence for generations to come.
Committee members collaborate with district staff to evaluate facility needs, review data, and develop recommendations that align with the district's educational mission and community values. All recommendations are formally presented to the School Board and Superintendent for consideration.
Residents of Peninsula School District with interest in capital planning, construction, or educational facilities are encouraged to apply when positions become available. Committee members serve two-year terms and meet regularly to conduct business.
