Culinary Arts
Peninsula School District's Culinary Arts CTE program equips students with essential kitchen and career skills that support health, wellness, and community. Through courses in food science, global cuisine, and nutrition and food preparation, students gain hands-on experience while exploring careers in high-demand food and hospitality fields.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics:
- Chefs and head cooks are expected to grow 8%, with approximately 24,600 openings per year.
- Dietitians and nutritionists are projected to grow 7% by 2033, with about 6,100 job openings each year.
Through Culinary Arts CTE courses offered across all three high schools, students are prepared for careers in professional kitchens, hospitality, nutrition, food science, and more.
